HOW IT WORKS

Registration

To be able to bid at KONKURSTORGET you need to create an account. You can easily create an account, which is completely free of charge, by entering your contact details and billing address. Consider creating different accounts depending on whether you are bidding as a private person or a company, because it is important for you as a customer to get the right conditions under the Distance Selling Regulations. Once you are logged in to your KONKURSTORGET account, you can place bids on auction items, access your bidding history, and store items that caught your interest in your personal list.

Inspection of items

We highly recommend you visit on viewing/inspection days because you, as a bidder, have an obligation to inspect. The obligation to inspect means that you, as a buyer, should form your own opinion about the item and its value. All items for sale are “as is.”. KONKURSTORGET examines each item and then does a market valuation—the information about it you'll always find in the item’s description.

All online auctions have a special viewing/inspection day that is announced in each item’s description. The time and place for viewing varies for different items, as some are arranged upon agreement with the KONKURSTORGET account managers.

Bidding

You can choose between three (3) different bidding tactics: Classic, Comfort and Active

Classic:

The bidding is fully handled by the system. The goal is to always place a bid right above the competing bidders but no more than that. The bidding service automatically places bids in your name up to your maximum bid. The minimum bidding intervals vary between items.

Comfort:

It works like the classic bid but with the difference that the system takes the current bid and reservation price into consideration. A good choice if you know you’ll bid high but don’t want to get caught up in bidding below the reservation price.

Active:

The bid will be the one you place, and it is handled manually. It is good to use if you want to place a large bid from the start and take home the whole auction, but it requires attention from the bidder's part in case other bidders might have max bids in place.

  • All bids are binding but cost-free. If a maximum bid has been reached, a message will be sent to the bidder who placed that bid. No emails are sent when you are overbid on items.
  • If you place a bid that is the same as another bidder’s max bid, your bid will be lowered by one (1) SEK, and the other bidder’s max bid will become the current bid.
  • If two bidders place the same bid, the bidder whose bid was first registered will win. In the bid history, the last bid received will appear at -1 SEK.
  • Then, once a maximum bid has been reached, a message will be sent to the bidder who placed that bid, informing him/her of this. Note that no mail will be sent out if a bidder gets overbid on an item.
  • Each item has a specific listing end time that also varies. If a bid is placed within three (3) minutes before the listing end time, the auction will be extended by three (3) minutes. This implies that you, as a bidder, will be able to follow the bid and will have a greater chance to win the item. When the auction reaches your highest bid, you will get an email.
  • If you have the winning bid and the reserve price is met when the auction ends, you will receive an invoice (at the end of the day) to the specified email address. In your KONKURSTORGET account, you also get an overview of all the past and ongoing auctions.
If you have the winning bid but the reserve price is not met, you will receive an email describing the negotiation process.
  • Note that all the items have an auction fee (based on the item’s market value) and VAT will be added to it.

Payment

When you have won the auction and your bid was accepted, the amount will be reserved on the card you have registerd. Please note that VAT will be added to both the winning bid and purchase fee unless otherwise stated. In those cases in which VAT is not added to the winning bid this are clearly stated in the item’s description, however VAT will always be added to the purchase fee. Individuals and businesses have the same payment terms y. In order to be able to pick up the item, the pamyment have beed done.
